The Triple Alliance of 1596 (full title: Tract of alliance between England, France and the United Netherlands), was an alliance between England, France and the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands. (1866): Inventory of the Amsterdam Archive, Parts 1-3 Stads-drukkerij The Republic joined as a third party to an earlier agreement between England and France, but the alliance did in fact not take effect until the Republic joined.

The Triple Alliance was a defence pact signed on 4 January 1717 in The Hague between the Dutch Republic, France and Great Britain, against Bourbon Spain in an attempt to maintain the agreements of the 1713–15 Peace of Utrecht. The three states were concerned about Spain becoming a superpower in Europe.
